Yorkite
Properties
Yorkite was developed specifically for the furniture and woodworking industries. Yorkite is a 100% manufactured wood veneer, compatible with all woodworking systems. It is a resin-free cellulose, chemically converted into a remarkably high strength, easy-to-use veneering material. It is smooth and very dense. 

Applications
1. Surface Veneer:
Yorkite accepts grain printing and painting beautifully, using standard equipment. It requires no basecoating or sizing, and less sealants are needed to achieve required quality. It eliminates joints and labor connected with the splicing operation. The density of Yorkite results in improved fidelity and reduces the amount of glue in laminating. Only a simple cold press is needed for perfect bonding. Yorkite is tough. It resists impact, improves stiffness and adds to the strength of the panel. This extra strength permits the use of lower grade or thin core material without sacrificing quality. Yorkite minimizes chipping, grain raising and cracking. It also reduces rejects or loss of material through breakage in handling.

2. Crossband:
Yorkite has very high tensile strength in all directions so that a thin crossband of such material can be used to securely anchor wooden sheets or veneers in place. This is particularly important in fancy face, sunburst and parquet designs, where joint separation had been a problem. Yorkite is the ideal crossbanding material for oversized products such as conference tables. The problems resulting from splicing are eliminated.

 3. Edgeband:
Yorkite is an exceptional edgebanding material for shelves and cabinets because it can be easily finished in the same manner and with the same results as the basic shelf and cabinet materials.

4. Yorkite combinations:

  1. Yorkite plus printed vinyls: Edgebanding and vertical surfaces.
  2. Yorkite plus polyester resin saturated printed papers: Edgebanding and curved surfaces.
  3. Yorkite plus phenolic resin saturated printed papers: Edgebanding and vertical surfaces.
  4. Yorkite plus melamine resin saturated printed papers: Vertical and horizontal surfaces.
  5. Yorkite plus hot stamp foils and rice papers: Vertical and horizontal surfaces.
